Victoria's first public clinic for the treatment of Venereal Diseases opened in July 1918. This presentation will describe the diseases, events and people instrumental in the establishing of this service, and then trace the subsequent evolution of Melbourne's public sexual health clinics through the 20th century, paralleling the changes in diagnostics, treatments, social changes and societal attitudes which shaped the provision of clinical services up to the present day
