Ihab Habib

Dr. Ihab Habib is an Assistant Professor in the College of Food and Agriculture (Department of Veterinary Medicine) of the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). Before joining UAEU, he worked (between 2015 and 2019) as Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology at Murdoch University, Western Australia. Also, he worked as Assistant Professor (Junior Docent) of Veterinary Public Health at Utrecht University (The Netherlands) and Lecturer of Food Hygiene and Control at Alexandria University (Egypt). Dr. Habib was awarded in the year 2010 a Ph.D. in Veterinary Public Health and Food Safety from Ghent University (Belgium). His specific research theme focuses on microbial food safety and risk analysis - studying the epidemiology and risk assessment of foodborne zoonoses (e.g., Campylobacter and Salmonella) and applying the One Health approach toward management of zoonotic and foodborne pathogens at the human-animal-food interface.
