Cam Simmons
Cameron Simmons (FAAHMS) is an NHMRC Leadership Fellow, Director of the Institute of Vector-borne Disease at Monash University and Director of the Oceania Hub of the World Mosquito Program. Cam spent 13 years in Vietnam at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ho Chi Minh City. It was here, seeing severe dengue patients on an almost-daily basis, that he developed expertise in clinical and epidemiological intervention trials against dengue. Cam leads the World Mosquito Program's Wolbachia research and implementation activities in Australia and the IndoPacific. Cam is a HiCi scholar and regularly consults to the World Health Organisation, and with vaccine and drug development companies.
